The Crowdfund Intermediary Regulatory Association Adds New Names to Board of Directors

The Crowdfund Intermediary Regulatory Association (CFIRA) has updated its Board of Directors adding several new members.  The recently appointed individuals will begin a two year term on June 2nd. The new members include:

  • Anthony Zeoli – Partner at Freeborn and Crowdfund Insider Senior Contributor
  • Ron Miller – co-founder and CEO of StartEngine
  • Blaine McLaughlin – COO of VIA Folio

Chairman of the CFIRA Board of Directors, Christ Tyrell, commented on the new appointments;

“We’re really excited to add this new leadership to the CFIRA board.  Ron, Tony and Blaine have been very active members of CFIRA and are already leaders in the industry.  Ron’s company StartEngine has been a leader in Reg A+ and Title III offerings; Blaine’s company VIAFolio is a leader in backoffice, custody and clearing services; and Tony has been an active advocate and attorney in the space.”

Zeoli, a long time contributor to Crowdfund Insider, has been an active and vocal participant in the emerging internet finance world. Zeoli, a  is an expert on intrastate crowdfunding and was the primary author of the Illinois state crowdfunding exemption.

Miller created LA-based StartEngine as a startup crowdfunding platform and accelerator.  StartEngine has quickly moved into the Reg A+ and Reg CF investment crowdfunding sector having facilitated over $17 milllion since launch.

McLaughlin helps manage VIA Folio, a platform that supports alternative investments by connecting buyers and sellers with a diverse range of both front and back end services. VIA Folio helps private companies access capital and empowers individuals to manage these investments.

CFIRA is a non-profit organization was established following the signing of the JOBS Act of 2012 as the primary trade organization for the investmeng crowdfunding industries. CFIRA works alongside the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and other governmental and quasi-governmental entities to establish rules, industry standards and best practices for crowdfund investing.
