Big & Bold in Barcelona: Garage Beer Overfunding on Crowdcube Spain

garage beerIn the green… Barcelona-based Garage Beer Co  swiftly surpassed its 400,000€ Crowdcube Spain campaign goal for 11.81% capital, having raised over 479,765€ with 39 days remaining until close.  The brewer is in the works to build a bigger plant and taped the crowd — not banks –to help will this next stage of their venture.

Pepe Borrell“Crowdfunding is becoming the first option for consumer & retail startups. Garage Beer has demonstrated how engaged his customers are and we’re excited to keep working with them on future rounds,” commented Crowdcube Spain MD Pepe Borrell.

UK Co-Founder James Welsh left the tech world to focus on something more meaningful — beer — and his efforts have been met with success.  The Garage Beer Founder and CEO shared Borrell’s enthusiasm regarding the successful campaign:
James Welsh“We’re psyched that so many fans of our beer have jumped onboard and we’ve just got the keys to the new plant, which is going to be big & bold but retain the friendly edge that makes our brewery tick. While we’re waiting for the new kit to arrive we’re going to fill one section with oak wine barrels and step up our ageing program – until now we simply haven’t had the space. We’ve genuinely become good mates with Crowdcube, they’ve basically acted as our finance team and have flipped a load of our customers into investors, enabling us to avoid dealing with banksters.”
