Crowdcube Hosts #FundedClub Celebration

Last week, equity crowdfunding platform Crowdcube held a special event that celebrated its #FundedClub members.

The UK-based website shared:

Crowdcube“During 2015 we raised over £115 million with over 300 raises, therefore we decided to celebrate with those businesses who had helped us reach this milestone. This event was our biggest yet of funded business.

“Located at Balderton Capital’s offices, the evening started with a welcome from both Darren and Luke, who spoke about how the #FundedClub provides a fantastic opportunity for collaboration and support. It gives entrepreneurs the opportunity to come together and connect not only by their association with Crowdcube, but by the very nature of the stage of their business and their decision to crowdfund.”

While revealing more details about the celebration, Crowdcube stated:

Crowdcube 7“Matt Cooper, our Commercial Director, shared the news that Crowdcube have partnered with Amazon on their new Launchpad programme. This is something we’re thrilled to have been able to put in place, and it will give many of our funded businesses that all important leg up to get their products launched and in front of the millions of Amazon customers across the UK. Interested members were invited to contact their Business Development Manager for more details. We also heard from David Goldberg, the Director of The Founders Pledge. The Founder Pledge enables entrepreneurs to give back to a social cause, something that Darren, our CEO, is signed up to.

“Our speaker for the night was Will King, who founded King of Shaves in 1993 and having stepped down from CEO last year after more than 20 years at the helm, now works extensively as a mentor for SMEs through his consultancy business. Will has a wealth of business experience and shared some of his entrepreneurial wisdom with us. We proceeded with presentations to the businesses of our #FundedClub with infographics depicting the raise and a celebratory bottle of bubbly.”

Crowdcube 4It was also noted that the evening’s food and drinks were provided by #FundedClub members, Chilango, Square Pie Soul Tree Wine, The Hop Stuff Brewery, Thor Drinks, Berrywhite and Tipplesworth. After enjoying the pies, burritos, mince pie martinis, craft beer and Indian wine, the attendees were ready to hit the casino.

Crowdcube added:

“The #FundedClub all have something in common, Crowdcube, and we want to encourage the ever-growing community, support and collaborations. We will be holding many more events, with the next in the summer, so we hope to see you again soon.”
