Congressman Patrick McHenry Set to Keynote CfPA Event in December

Congressman Patrick McHenry is scheduled to deliver the keynote address as the Crowdfunding Professional Association (CfPA) this coming December in Washington, DC.  McHenry has been investment crowdfunding’s biggest champion on Capitol Hill and is regarded as one of the principle architects of the legislation.  The Congressman has also advocated on behalf of small business and the importance of fostering a positive environment for SMEs to thrive.

This is the 3rd annual CfPA Crowdfinance Summit.  Along with Congressman McHenry, the CfPA states that dozens of other prominent leaders in the crowdfunding space will be present to discuss the evolving ecosystem and what to expect for the future of investment crowdfunding. With the finalization of rules pertaining to Reg A+ and Title III crowdfunding, the sector is poised to boom over the coming years.  The gathering will be timely as Title III rules have just been released and are expected to become actionable in mid-2016. This year’s them is appropriately title  “Outlook and Opportunities in 2016”.

The one-day summit is accepting registrations online now. The event will take place at the offices of the law firm of Manatt Phelps & Phillips on December 2nd.

The CfPA was created soon after the signing of the JOBS Act in 2012. The organization helps cultivate and balance a healthy ecosystem that aims to accelerate capital formation for startups and emerging growth enterprises while ensuring investor protection.
