Creators of Indiegogo Alum “Con Man” Take the Stage at Comic Con & Share Details About the Upcoming Web Series

Continuing to build up some hype for its online premiere, the Con Man crew hit up San Diego’s Comic Con this week alongside global crowdfunding platform, Indiegogo.

Con Man 2Earlier this year,  Firefly duo, Nathan Fillion and Alan Tudyk took to Indiegogo with a mission to raise funds for the web series. Its synopsis reads:

Wray Nerely (Alan Tudyk) was a co-star on Spectrum, a sci-fi series which was canceled -Too Soon- yet became a cult classic. Wray’s good friend, Jack Moore (Nathan Fillion) starred in the series and has gone on to become a major movie star. While Jack enjoys the life of an A-lister, Wray tours the sci-fi circuit as a guest of conventions, comic book stores, and lots of pop culture events.  The show will feature all the weird and crazy things that happen to Wray along the way to these events.

Con Man finished its campaign at a total of $3,124,214 and became the third biggest crowdfunding campaign of all time for film on any platform.

During their Comic Con panel,  Con Man: The Fan Revolt 13 Years in the Making, Fillion explained Tudyk’s determination to get Con Man off the ground. He jokingly stated:

Nathan-Fillion-Alan-Tudyk-Con-ManIt was an idea that Alan would not let die.

Panelist and show host Chris Hardwick noted:

“It feels like this was an idea that everyone on this panel wanted to do before they knew it.”

Also sharing details about his and Tudyk’s collaboration, Fillion added:

“Alan and I always want to work together but it was out of our control… until now.”

Con Man will be available for streaming exclusively on Vimeo starting September 30th.
