GE FirstBuild’s Connected Paragon Induction Cooktop Set to Be Featured at 2015 International Home + Housewares Show

Paragon 3FirstBuild, GE Appliances’ new global co-creation community, will showcase its Indiegogo project Paragon Induction Cooktop along with Chantal cookware at the International Home + Housewares Show on March 7th-10th at McCormick Place in Chicago. FirstBuild and Chantal have partnered to bundle cutting-edge mobile technology with elegant induction cookware that together allow anyone to achieve professional results.

The Paragon Induction Cooktop enables precision cooking techniques like “sous vide,” with iOS/Android app-enabled setup and monitoring, supporting the show’s mobile connectivity theme. Pair Chantal’s elegant Induction 21 cookware with the Paragon Induction Cooktop for a dream team that makes precision cooking simple with flawless results.

The Sous Vide and Sear package includes the cooktop, an 8-quart Chantal Stock Pot with lid and a 10-inch Chantal ceramic-coated fry pan. The package includes everything you need to cook an edge-to-edge medium-rare steak, poach the perfect egg and cook veggies with exact precision every time.

Paragon 2The 1,400-watt Paragon Induction Cooktop controls temperatures within 1 degree Fahrenheit for precision cooking techniques. A wireless temperature sensor continuously sends this information to the cooktop, which automatically adjusts the burner’s heat output. It can also be used to poach, simmer, warm, fry and braise with precision all assisted by the wireless temperature sensor and doubles as an induction cooktop so sous vide cooking and searing can be done all on one device.

Paragon will be available exclusively through Indiegogo until Tuesday (March 10th), when special pre-order pricing for the cooktop will end. The smart cooktop is available at a special promotional price of $169 through the end of the housewares show, or bundled with premium Chantal cookware for $329. The future retail price of the cooktop will be $249. Campaign contributors can also purchase Chantal cookware separately.

Director of FirstBuild, Natarajan Venkatakrishnan stated:

Natarajan Venkatakrishnan“After the overwhelming demand for this product in the first weeks of the pre-orders, we expect it will be well received by home and cooking enthusiasts at the show looking for smart appliances to help them cook like restaurant chefs. The Paragon Induction Cooktop, which was developed by our co-creation community, offers more precise control of cooking temperatures than any other cooktop on the market and can be purchased along with Chantal’s induction cookware.”

Founder and CEO of Chantal Corp, Heida Thurlow then added:

“Being an engineer, it is very exciting to participate in the introduction of a product as innovative as Paragon.”
