Ari Fine has been named chief operating officer of Yield Crowd, a marketplace lending platform for alternative, asset-based investments. Fine, a recent Cornell University graduate, joined Yield Crowd from Venture for America’s first class of Miami fellows. VFA is a two-year fellowship that matches recent graduates with promising startups in cities across the country.
Yield Crowd allows accredited investors to invest in CS opportunities online through a private, secure website. Investors can browse investments, review legal documents and due diligence materials, and sign legal documents securely online. Investors also have 24/7 access to an investor dashboard which enables investors to monitor their Structured Settlements, Lottery, Annuity and other Specialty Finance investments. According to the platform, “Yield Crowd investments shares can be bought with as little as $1,000 (instead of minimums most private funds require, which usually start at $50,000 – $250,000 and go up from there).”
