Update: Mass Fidelity’s The Core Hits $1M During Final Days On Indiegogo

With less than two days until its Indiegogo campaign comes to an end, Mass Fidelity’s The Core has scored  over $1 million dollars, thanks to its 3,155 backers. The Toronto-based startup announced it was extending its campaign earlier this month and continuing to be a huge success on the global crowdfunding platform.

As previously reported on Crowdfund Insider, The Core allows users to enjoy all of their music through their home with amazing sound. The small, compact speaker system sounds like two separated full size HiFi speakers with crystal clear mid-range and bone shaking bass. The speaker’s features include:

• Stream an infinite selection of music through Bluetooth: Can play any music through smartphone, tablet, laptop or PC through online streaming sites or the user’s personal music collection. No wires or WiFi required.

• Take it Wherever: The device fits in the user’s hand and has a 12-hour battery life. It’s completely portable, from the living room to the patio.

• Fill every room in the home with music: By pressing one button, the user can connect up to nine Cores to fill their home with multi-room stereo sound.

Co-founder and CEO of Mass Fidelity, Ben Webster stated, “When we saw everyone’s reactions after hearing the Core, ranging from industry veterans to music lovers, we knew we had something great on our hands, but we have been absolutely floored by the response and support of the Indiegogo community.

“Over the past few weeks, we’ve held multiple events for campaign backers and potential supporters who are excited to hear the product. The Core is fundamentally different than any other wireless audio product out there due to the amazing ‘acoustic hologram’ it creates, and our Indiegogo backers are the first in the world to be able to hear the future.”

During a recent update, the Core team shared, “We’ve been hearing from so many of you over the past two months about how you plan to use your Core. You’ve come up with things we hadn’t thought of, and we wanted to share them with the community.  We can’t wait until the Core is creating musical experiences throughout your homes, in your favorite places, and with the ones you love. ”

The Core team also made sure to discuss shipping concerns.”The cost of shipping outside of Canada and the U.S. is $25 USD per shipment, regardless of the number of devices you have ordered. If you have not yet made your payment, we will contact you prior to shipping to do so.The $25 shipping charge does not include VAT. Unfortunately, we are unable to adjust the actual purchase price or ship the Core as a “gift” to save on VAT or customs as all shipping is handled by a fulfillment firm.”

The Core will continue to be available for pre-order via Indiegogo through Sunday (November 2nd) at $389 for one unit, $729 for two units, or $999 USD for three. Additionally, backers can secure the $399 price with the “Save Now, Pay Later” perk by paying $99 now and paying the remaining $300 balance prior to the unit shipping to the customer. Following the Indiegogo campaign, the Core will be available at the full retail price of $599 USD.

The Core Wireless Sub will also be available for pre-order via Indiegogo for $229 for the Sub on its own, and $618 for the Core Wireless Speaker and the Core Sub combined. Additionally, backers can secure the a $249 price with the ‘Save Now, Pay Later’ perk by paying $49 now and the remaining $200 balance prior to shipping. Following the campaign, the Core Wireless Sub will be available for the full retail price of $399, and units are slated to begin shipping to backers in June of 2015.
