Brief: Tile Reports Bluetooth Connectivity Issue with iOS Update

A single TileApple has had a few stumbles of late and it appears that a recent update to iOS 8 and the associated Bluetooth issues have hit Tile causing connectivity problems between the App and the Tile finder device.  As a proud owner of multiple Tiles I can attest to the recently introduced problem with my various Tile’s now ignoring my iPhone 6.

In an email to supporters Tile stated they have identified the issue and developers continue to work on resolving things:

“We’ve been in touch with Apple working through the problems with Tile connecting to iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. Last week, Apple released iOS 8.1 to developers for testing and we’ve been testing Tile with this new iOS version and the iPhone 6. We’re pleased to report that iOS 8.1, as it currently exists, solves the current connectivity problems Tilers are experiencing.”

Since the Tile  team is uncertain as to when the forthcoming release will hit iTunes, they are offering early backers the choice to replace their Tiles free of charge until the iOS update.

“From the beginning, we’ve talked about reliability being at the core of Tile. You were our earliest supporters, put your faith in us, and are the bedrock of the Tile community. We hope this continues to demonstrate our dedication to supporting you, just the way you’ve supported us.”

Tile on KeysWhat else can you do?  So unfortunately my keys have gone missing so I need to go and hunt. But it is good to know that iOS 8.1 should fix the problem and if not – new Tiles will be forthcoming.
