Ringly Launches Jewelry Pretail Campaign: The Wearer of the Ring Stays Connected

New York-based Ringly launches its pre-sales crowdfunding campaign today after raising its million dollar seed round this past September.  The tech start-up aims to solve the recurring frustrating problem of missed calls and texts with its chic line of smart jewelry that caters to a woman’s simultaneous need for connectivity and independence.  The alerts are customizable, meaning the wearer can set her Ringly to vibrate only when specific contacts email or call, i.e. if one’s boss sends an email.  The Ringly can also alert the wearer when her Uber has arrived.

Ringly-logoRingly has set a goal to raise $60,000 to fund production of its first batch of pretail rings that will ship in Fall 2014. The ring will come in three sizes: 6, 7, and 8, and the first 1,000 rings sold on Ringly will include an authentic diamond on the side of the ring near the notification beacon.

Composed of designers and engineers dedicated to blending fashion and technology in meaningful ways, Ringly built a new line of smart jewelry and accessories that notify the wearer of important calls or messages through vibration and subtle light. According to the startup, here’s how Ringly keeps its wearer connected in style:

• Connect: The Ringly mobile app, which will support iOS and Android, pairs with your ring via Bluetooth LE to ping you when you’re getting a text, call, calendar alert, email, or even notifies you if you leave your phone behind. You can also add notifications from your favorite apps, including: Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter, Pinterest, Facebook, Tumblr, Vine, LinkedIn, Uber, and Tinder.

Ringly PinkSapphire• Customize: The wearer controls how she wants to be notified so she can stay connected to what’s important to her. Choose from different vibration patterns and subtle light colors to customize the alert for each type of notification.

• Accessorize: Ringly is crafted with 18K gold plating and semi-precious stones. Launching with black onyx, rainbow moonstone, pink sapphire, and emerald options, one will soon forget the ring’s primary connective function.

• Charge: One can even power her Ringly in style: its ring box is the charger. When running low on battery, simply drop the ring back in its box to charge. Ringly will remain charged for about three days.
