Brief: New Craftsmen Opens Up Permanent Retail Space

The New Craftsmen logoComing off a successful equity crowdfunding round on Crowdcube,  the New Craftsmen has announced they will open up a permanent retail location on North Row, Mayfair.  Previously the company had operated two Mayfair pop-up shops.  The funding generated on Crowdcube has facilitated the new retail opening.  The crowdfunding round closed having raised £171,580 on a £150,000 goal.

Since 2012 the New Craftsmen has collaborated with over 70 British makers as they strive to redefine traditional British craft skills.  The company has been hard at work building relationships with interior designers and private clients, accompanied by a web site, to fulfill their mission.  The new 2000 square foot space in Mayfair, the heart of London’s luxury quarter, is part of their strategy of positioning their company as the premier location to purchase the very best in British crafts and design products.

 As the New Craftsmen revives the values of tradition and British quality in a uniquely contemporary fashion they hope to grow the scope and market of their business.  Natalie Melton, co-founder of the Natalie Meltoncompany stated;

“Our new shop will give us both the time and space to reveal in some depth the skills and stories of our growing stable of makers. This will certainly be a unique place to shop, but equally it will be a place to create – an environment where clients can develop and commission bespoke work; pieces that can become future heirlooms and treasures. We cannot wait to open the doors and get going!”
