Update: YouTube Phenom PewDiePie Trumps $250K Indiegogo Crowdfunding Goal For Save The Children

PewDiePie is one of a rare breed of YouTube phenomenon. In fact, he’s king of the mountain… he can lay claim to the most subscriptions for a YouTube channel in history. As he has done in the past, he launched a crowdfunding campaign via Indiegogo seeking $250,000 from the crowd for Save The Children, a nonprofit that advocates on behalf of children around the world and provides basic necessities.

The campaign was launched in celebration of his channel reaching a ridiculous 25 million subscribers. PewDiePie – or Felix Kjellberg as he is known on the streets – runs a YouTube channel rife with videos of his own narrations while he plays video games. Its a popular format on YouTube, but nobody has created that type of content with the level of success that Kjellberg has been able to achieve.

Two donors have even chipped in $50,000 in order to be the center of a “Friday with PewDiePie,” a regular weekly vlogging session.

Kjellberg is going to be chipping in over $3,000 himself, one dollar for every thousand views on his Indiegogo pitch video. That video is already over 3.3 million views.
