Joystiq’s Crowdfund Bookie report for the month of January is out, and the findings are pretty stark.
Mike Suszek’s monthly breakdown of crowdfunding in video games suggests a 63% drop in funding from December to January on Kickstarter and Indiegogo. The drop is largely attributed to what Suszek describes as a lack of a “marquee” title in the month of January. Often numbers are inflated by singular games racking up big money on Kickstarter or Indiegogo. Think Mighty No. 9 or Shroud of the Avatar.
