WATCH: Kickstarter Alum Obsidian Releases Project Eternity Trailer, Gives Game Final Name

Project Eternity was successfully crowdfunded on Kickstarter to the tune of almost $4 million. Now the game’s developer, Obsidian Entertainment, has released a gameplay trailer ahead of the game’s scheduled release sometime this year. The campaign page promised April of 2014, and by the looks of the trailer that goal may be in the cards.

The game has also received an official name: Pillars of Eternity. The trailer looks awesome…

In addition to this new in-game footage, Obsidian has also launched a backer portal where backers (old and new) can sign up to do things like manage their pledges, buy in-game upgrades or give information on physical perks.

Obsidian is considering adding stretch goals to their ongoing self-hosted crowdfunding effort to fund the addition of new gameplay features that have been in high demand from early backers. There is currently a poll running on Obsidian’s forums, and it seems the public has spoken. They want those stretch goals to become a reality by a vote of more than 3 to 1.
