We recently stumbled upon a Quora answer from David S. Rose made in July of last year. One of the topics relevant to crowdfunding is IP protection. Crowdfunding is a very public endeavor, and exposing early-stage ideas to the crowd carries some risk of garnering copycats.
On that subject, Rose explains that good ideas aren’t worth anything in the absence of even better execution. He encourages entrepreneurs to focus on execution in an effort to ensure that even though they may not be the only ones with access to the idea, they are the ones that lead the charge on the idea’s implementation.
David S. Rose is CEO of Gust, an accredited-only crowdfunding marketplace. The site has been responsible for funding over 1,800 startups in the last 12 months.
