Crowdfunding to Be Topic at Milken Global Conference

Where the World Connects Milken Global ConferenceCommencing this week in Los Angeles is the annual Global Conference, sponsored by the Milken Institute.  The event covers a diverse list of global issues – including crowdfunding.

The conference began in 1998 and has grown over the years from 700 attendees to this years expected 3000 plus.  Luminaries and industry magnates converge on this four day affair to identify and discuss emerging trends impacting the world today.  The likes of Tony Blair, Rupert Murdoch and Al Gore will grace the dais but at least one of the panels will include some of the crowdfunding faithful.

On Monday a session titled Crowdfunding for Start Ups and Small Business – which includes the following speakers from both the rewards based and investment sides of crowdfunding today:

Crowdfunding advocate Daniel Gorfine who is Director Financial Markets Policy and Legal Counsel Milken Institute, will actDGorfine as moderator for this panel. Organizers  expect Jobs Act supporters such as Steve Case, Senator Mark Warner and Congressman Patrick McHenry to be in attendance as well.

Discussions are expected to cover crowdfunding the democratization of finance while minimizing the risk to investors and entrepreneurs.
