Award Winner JamStik Crowdfunds on Indiegogo

JamStik, which won an Inventions Award on Popular Science a few weeks ago, has launched a pre-production Jamstik on Indiegogocrowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo.  And what, exactly is JamStik?  It is a mobile friendly guitar like device that connects to your iOS devices so y0u can learn to play and make music out of the gate.  This is a very cool piece of music tech.  Only 15″ long you can take this anywhere.  Use real picks on real frets with real strings and connect to GarageBand or tons of other programs on your iPad or iPhone.

If you are just learning to play, JamStik teaches guitar through the bundled JamTutor system where you can see your finger positions on your iPad screen. JamTutor uses interactive “fun” exercises so you can learn to play in no time.  If you already play, you will love that it can sound like any instrument, any guitar, any keyboard, any synth.

Jamstik at CESThe crowdfunding campaign has just launched on Indiegogo with a goal of $100,000 to help get the production model ready and then kick out the first round of this tech bling.  There is a wide range of donor levels going all the way up to $15,000 but $175 can get you in early on this product which is expected to ship towards the end of the year.

Zivix is the company that is powering this crowdfunding effort.  The company was founded by a former Electrical Engineer and CTO, Dan Sullivan, who had a passion for guitar but wanted to improve the learning curve on mastering this instrument.  So if you ever had guitar envy after watching Hendrix, Clapton or Van Halen maybe this is your chance.
