Crowdfund games based on chemistry and Machine of Death

Better Gaming Through Chemistry on KickstarterMachine of Death, the science fiction anthology that pissed off Glenn Beck, is back in the form of a macabre card game, and you can help fund the production. If you prefer your games grounded in science, there’s also a chemistry-themed strategy game, and the clock is ticking on sending in your pledge. Plus, a bit on funding that isn’t crowdfunding—bid on art by Pixar artists to fund their independently produced short film.

Compounded: Better Gaming Through Chemistry: If tabletop games have taught us anything, it’s that people will learn and apply massive amounts of information when victory is at stake. Compounded is a strategy game that forces players to apply real chemistry. Here’s the pitch:

Compounded is a game about building chemical compounds through careful management of elements, a fair bit of social play and trading, and just a bit of luck. InCompounded, players take on the roles of lab managers, hastily competing to complete the most compounds before they are completed by others – or destroyed in an explosion. Some compounds are flammable and will grow more and more volatile over time; take too long to gather the necessary elements for those compounds and a lot of hard work will soon be scattered across the lab.

For a $42 pledge, you can get a copy of the game. There’s less than half a day left on this campaign, so if you want to throw your money their way, do it now.
