Abe’s Market, an online shopping site for natural products which connects buyers seeking amazing natural products has announced a round of financing raising $5 Million. A portion of these funds were raised on Israel based crowdfunding platform OurCrowd.
Abe’s Market is the brainchild of Richard Demb and Jon Polin the co-founders of the e-commerce site.
Coming from the pages of Globes, this round of financing was led by well known finance group Carmel Ventures. Current investors joining the offering included Accel Partners and Index Ventures. Private equity firm Beringea also participated in the round.
OurCrowd is an equity based crowdfunding platform constructed for accredited investors. OurCrowd was founded by Jon Medved a leading israeli venture capitalist and seriel entrepreneur. He is also the founder of Israel Seed which has managed over $262 in various funds. Medved was also CEO of publicly traded company Vringo ($VRNG).
OurCrowd intends on operating under current Regulation D private company funding regulations.
