SoBe Drinks Founder Kevin McGovern Takes Position with The Soho Loft

Kevin McGovern, Founder of SoBe soft drinks, sold to Pepsi for $325 million, and current Trustee at Cornell University, has taken a board advisory position with The Soho Loft.  The intention is to build TSL to a media company and allow capital creation such as SME policy, crowdfunding and Regulation D to flourish.

Kevin McGovern is known as chairman of McGovern Capital, a global investment, strategy and licensing provider to business.  He was also a founder of beverage company SoBe which was sold to Pepsi for $325M and helped to drive the development, launch and licensing of products for the world’s leading skin care supplier, TriStrata.  His current work is in obliterating water pollution globally through his firm The Water Initiative which his dear friend Quincy Jones chairs.

At one point Mr. McGovern’s firm had 12 lawyers in Greenwich, CT exclusively focused on intellectual property rights.  According to Mr Drake, his addition to TSL is “… part of a strategic direction we are taking towards growth internationally.  We are moving towards a full fledge media servicing company and the 100+ conferences we manage globally is one division.  Kevin’s friendship and business acumen in reviewing intellectual properties and licensing with our holding firm LDJ Capital goes back many years.  He is indisputably the leading expert in these fields according to us.”
